Last Monday evening at the Belfast Speakers' Circle, our industrious and energetic committee member Maureen gave us some valuable tips on the techniques of news reading. We had been invited to gather some news items during the previous week and to present them newsreader style. Yes, it was a useful discipline to adopt appropriate voice and body language to report the events of last week. There was even something humourous to report, which was encouraging to hear.
