Anyway, I'm sure you gathered from the photos that actually arrived on this Blog page, instead of going directly to Facebook? that it was a very posh evening, with us all dressed up to the nines, enjoying gourmet food, and listening to words of wisdom, expertly deployed by our top table speakers. Once again, achievement was recognised at competitive level, whether at Festivals or Circle activities, and cups, shields and trophies were distributed to our talented members.
Barry then introduced our guest speaker, Bafta award winning BBC reporter Darragh MacIntyre, who sustained the interest of us all with a fascinating account of a range of his professional involvements.
A most stimulating and enjoyable evening concluded with Barry's speech, outlining his most memorable experiences during his year as President. Evelyn got a mention again, with her memorable mime of an elephant walk, during her speech about what was in Pandora's Box. So if you're curious, as to what exactly goes on in the Belfast Speakers' Circle, do please come along and investigate. We always welcome new faces. Our next activity before the AGM on Monday 28th April, will be a Balloon Debate. Sounds a lot of fun and an opportunity to show off your verbal ingenuity? Of course it is maybe see you there. Bye for now ; < ))
